If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, I’m back with an all-new list of fun and unique self-care activities you can try! And hey, some of these are totally off the wall, so they can in fact double as Bucket List items too!

P.S. This article was written in collaboration with Caitlin from the blog, It’s Caitlin Again! If you’re looking for popular self-care activities, that are also fan favorites, then check out her Self-care post here. In addition to reading her self-care list, check out her manifestation guide, and Instagram too!

Let’s get started!

Super Chill Unique Self-Care Activities

If you’ve tried all of the popular self-care activities, but you still want to keep your Self-Care Sunday low-key and low maintenance, then check out these activities!

  • Build a blanket fort: Ok Ariba made building a blanket fort look SO EASY in the video below. I’ve literally never met anyone in real life who’s done this, but it looks so cool! In less than 5 minutes, you can have your very own blanket fort set up. Use it to sleep, read a book, or kick back and binge the latest TV Show series (I suggest you watch Ginny & Georgia on Netflix, it’ll change your life!)
  • Goat yoga: Caprine vinyasa (aka goat yoga) was started in 2016 on a farm in Oregan! Since its founding, it’s taken off! Yes, goats are involved, and yes you will have to touch said goats. Haha. It’s a totally different experience, and if you want to elevate your yoga practice, this is how! Do a quick Google search, and see where in your city, you can do Goat Yoga!
  • Create an “Out of Comfort Zone” Challenge Jar: This is essentially a jar filled with a ton of things you’re nervous to do. Start off by buying a mason jar. Lookup fun “out of comfort zone” activities, or fill them with your own personal challenges. Turn on your favorite playlist, and stuff your jar until it’s completely full! Anytime you’re feeling a little blah or need an energy boost, pull out your jar, pick one of your “challenges” and then do it! (example challenges: say yes to everything for a day, start a new side hustle, crash a wedding, be 100% honest for an entire week, etc.)

  • Go Grape Smashing in a Wine Vineyard: Talk about unique self-care activities! This is about as unique as they come. Okay, so you kind of need to live near a wine vineyard, that allows patrons to smash their grapes. If you happen to be lucky enough to do this, you should totally do it! You’ll need to do a bit of research and then schedule a slot. This activity is pretty unusual. In order to smash the grapes, patrons have to use their BARE FEET! Don’t believe me? Watch this!
  • Get a Digital Pen Pal: Have you heard of Slowly? It’s this super cool pen pal app. It allows you to talk to people from around the world, and write notes. Each note takes a couple of days to “mail.” You can also send and talk to as many people as you like at once. It’s totally anonymous, and you can reveal as much or as little as you want. Check it out!

  • Go on dates: Because human interaction is a mood booster. And mood boosters are totally considered to be self-care. Add in the potential to have 10+ tinder matches in one place and you totally have yourself a unique self-care activity! I’m not saying you have to DIY your own version of the bachelor/bachelorette in order to have fun on your date, but I mean come on! You have to admit that this is pretty adventurous!

If dates aren’t your cup of tea, here are some other unique self-care activities to do:

  • Take off in a hot air balloon ride: This one is pretty low-key too if you ask me. If you’re afraid to drift off, they do have rides where you go straight up, hover in one spot for a while, and then come right back down. Do some research to see which ride is best for you!
  • Go Snorkeling: You don’t have to go abroad to do this! There are a few man-made places, like the Florida Blue Hole, where you can go snorkeling! Obviously, be safe, and take the proper lessons before embarking on this adventure.
  • Visit the closest, and highest mountain range: For all my Atlanta peeps, that would be Brasstown Bald! It’s the highest point in Georgia. For everyone else, a simple Google search will point you in the right direction! Here’s a sneak peek below.
  • DIY Food Tour: It’s an adventure for your mouth! Build a list of 3-5 restaurants in your city. Get as wild as you want with your list. Think about picking restaurants that feature foods from different regions. Also choose foods, that you wouldn’t normally eat! Also try some boujee food (i.e. escargot, raw oysters, black truffle, Peking duck, etc.). Atlanta peeps, check out my food Instagram for some of my recent food finds.

On a serious note, if you invite your Tinder/Bumble/Hinge matches to the same bar, drop your experience in the comments below. I’d totally be interested in hearing about that! Haha
