The topic of manifestation has been heating up the internet over the last few months. As the world has been crumbling around us, people have been finding solace and peace from within.

Don’t believe me? Even stars like Shawn Mendes, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, and Lady Gaga have revealed that they believe in LOA and manifestation. To top it all off, the topic of manifestation has been tagged thousands of times on Twitter! People are manifesting jobs, romantic relationships, peace, and just about anything else you can think of.

What Is Manifestation and Law of Attraction?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Manifestation is the act of making something evident or certain by showing or displaying.

While manifesting material items and romantic relationships is one way to think about it, that’s not quite what manifestation is about. When you read a bit more about manifestation, you’ll start to see topics like “The Law of Attraction”, “Gratitude” and the practice of “Self-Awareness,” pop up as well. Without these key topics, manifestation wouldn’t be a thing, so let’s take a brief look at these as well.

The Law of Attraction ideas stem from a 19th-century spiritual movement. The basic principles lie with your mindset. If you think positive thoughts, then in turn you’ll start to experience positive things in your life. Consider saying daily positive affirmations to yourself to get in the habit of speaking and thinking positive thoughts.

Gratitude is the practice of recognizing the things that are positive in your life and giving thanks. Consider writing down the things that you’re grateful for every day, to continue to elevate your mindset.

Self-awareness is having the ability to recognize your own character, feelings, motives, and desires as you move through life. This is a practice that takes constant reflection and re-aligning in order to truly discover yourself. Follow up your gratitude practice by doing a few self-awareness reflection exercises.

In order to successfully manifest, you have to have a growth mindset, be aware of how you move through life, and always be mindful of all the good things you already have in life.

How Do I Manifest?

That all sounds lovely, but I bet you’re wondering how to get in on the action? Well, getting started is easy because manifestation is simple. It works best when you:

  • Clarify what you want
  • Speak it into existence
  • Do the work to get you to where you want to be
  • Give thanks for what you have & what you receive
  • Self-reflect & realign

The tools & techniques listed below are what I personally use to guide my manifestation journey. This list is not the only way to do it. In order to make manifestation work for you and your lifestyle, you have to design your own journey.

Manifestation Tools

  • Bentoism: Bentoism is a self-awareness tool that can be used to bring you clarity, unveil your passions, and help you document your goals. Start by completing your weekly “Bento Box” to gain immediate clarity.
  • Grid Diary: The Grid Diary is a digital journal that offers guided daily journal prompts. The unique grid design makes it easy to quickly jot down, and reflect on multiple life topics.
  • Accountability Partner / Mentor: Accountability partners come in many forms. For me, my family, professional mentors, and friends all serve as guides in my life. I share my manifestations and goals with them, and they check in on me to make sure I’m following through. Jot down a few people in your life who can help hold you accountable during your journey of self-discovery.

Manifestation Techniques

  • Prayer and/or Meditation: Daily prayer is something that I strive to do! It can be as simple as giving thanks and asking for guidance and clarity.
  • Journaling: As mentioned above, I try to journal at a steady cadence. Journaling is a great way to become more self-aware, clear your mind, and document your daily challenges and wins.
  • Doodling: Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist, doodling can be a great way to distress, while also expressing the life that you imagine in a new way.
  • Speaking it into Existence: This one is self-explanatory! Speak the experiences that you want into existence. Remember to use manifestation as a practice, with the ultimate goal being self-discovery and self-confidence. Be mindful to not focus on only manifesting surface-level things.
  • Positive Affirmations: Last but certainly not least, remember to speak to yourself kindly. Positive affirmations are a practice of speaking positive action statements aloud. Say these statements while standing in a power pose for an extra boost of confidence. HA!

Positive Affirmations

Positive Affirmations are a great jumping-off point for building a peaceful and positive life. Say these affirmations to yourself in the mirror.
