Frappe Breaks are little doses of creativity that can be injected into your day at any point. They’re meant to inspire, wake you up, and put some fire under your feet! They’re just as potent as any cup of real coffee (or in my case, a good ‘ol frappe), just without all the jitters, and possible midday energy drains.
Brief:
Who are you?
No really, who are you? Is this how the world sees you?
Today you’re going to find out. I know this sounds a bit cliche, but everyone has something that they do better than the next person. It’s extremely difficult for some to figure out what makes them special, but with a little help, you can uncover it.
Deliverables:
I’m challenging you to expand your mind. Reach out to 3-5 friends, family members, and co-workers (try to do at least one from each category). Ask them to provide 5 adjectives or 1 statement that they’d use to describe you. Also, ask them if you exhibit less desirable characteristics. So, what they think you need to improve on.
We’re going to use these words and phrases to build out the ultimate brand statement. Use these words and statements to guide you as you write either a personal or professional brand statement.
My Results:
This frappe break was inspired by a development program that I’m a part of. During our breakdown, we put all of our words on different sticky notes.
After writing down and seeing all the words that people had used to describe me, I placed each one into specific groups.
I will say that this process wasn’t the easiest. I even took a spirit animal quiz to help me make connections to the words that I’d grouped. I also listed my skills and job responsibilities. These all helped me craft a professional brand statement. This method could also be used to create a personal brand statement as well.
After that, I worked with my mentor (which I advise everyone to have!) to develop a professional brand statement that worked for me.
My Personal Brand Statement: I am a creative, multi-media consuming queen who’s constantly searching for the next big thing. I am a free spirit who fearlessly pushes through boundaries by being relentless, inquisitive and encouraging others to take imaginative leaps.
My Professional Brand Statement: A pioneering, multimedia specialist with a professional background in strategizing and cultivating cross-media experiences. Adept in building 50+ monthly digital marketing experiences, managing project calendars, and client relations. I am seeking to foster and develop new voices and stories.
